Thanks Rhiannon ---------and Congratulations Lisa Cain for running your first half-marathon.

Thank you Mrs. Talley! I am so glad to hear this! I am always a tad nervous, but the kids never let me down! This weekend the cheerleaders provided directional support to the runners of the Miracle Match Half Marathon. The zoo does not allow any type of course marking so without the girls spending their EARLY Sunday morning helping out, the runners would have been quite lost. :o) AND YES, WE GOT TO SEE MS. CAIN AROUND MILE 7 AND SHE LOOKED AMAZING! Coach Compton had his AVID kids out on Friday and Saturday helping us with registration and encouraging our Miracle Match Kids across the finish line! Shara Newton sang the National Anthem for us, as always she nailed it!
The cheerleaders, ROTC, Key Club, and FBLA also manned ALL the aid stations at the First Responder Half Marathon in December. It was an amazing site to see nothing but UHS kids on the course for support.
I believe it is so important to have our kids doing positive things in the community. It seems that "everyone" believes we have these terrible kids, when really its just a few that have tainted our image. If your group ever needs community service/volunteer hours, please let me know. I would love to place them at these types of events so the Waco community knows how AWESOME UHS really is!
